EMDREye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorder. It is widely recognized as an effective treatment by the American Psychiatric Association, American Psychological Association, U.S. Dept of Veterans Affairs/Dept. of Defense, World Health Organization and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. EMDR therapy can be completed in fewer sessions than other psychotherapies and can be used with children and adults. (EMDR International Association).
EMDR can also be a wonderful adjunct therapy to therapy you are already doing with your current therapist. Should you need extra support and expertise to work through specific traumas I am happy to team up with you and your current therapist. |
